Welcome!

There are many different business ways that you could look at exploitations.

a) If you like to be a fully integrated manufacturer. Then exploit materials that would supply raw materials for your factory.

b) If you think you could make money by selling Raw materials that you exploit in the Black Market, try to exploit something that would give you highest revenue/profit.

Types of Raw Materials

There are three categories of Exploitations namely Farms, Industry and mines.

Different Raw materials can be exploited from different types of exploitations. The details are available through this french link http://lagoonb.ovh.org/niveau5/mp.php. If you cannot read French convert your web page to English by using this link http://webtranslation.paralink.com/

Before you start exploitation set up you exploitation. The key factors are as follows.

Research and Development.

Research and Development will reduce number of days required for exploitation from 9 days to 26Hours. Fundamental Reserach is the upper limit of your Development. Eg If you do 30% Reserch you can develop only up to 30%. Very Logical! 10% Reserach and Development is a good way to start. 50% considered to be the optimum value for money level. If you are rich you could go further.

Improvements

There are 3 improvements. Improvements will only reduce number of employees required for your exploitation. This is considered by most as a cost/investment that has no real value for money. Paying fantastic salaries at this level is not a big problem. In my part of LagoonB there is lot of cheap labour! Also don't forget, if you change the exploitation type from one to another, you lose your full investment in Improvements.

Warehouse capacity

Raw materials take lot of warehouse space depending on the type of raw material you exploit. So make sure you check your warehouse capacilty and with expected output of the Exploitation.

Strategy

There are many startegies written by many authors in Level 5 forum. I am sure you will enjoy reading! New Players bring new thinking to this level. I am sure you will formulate your own innovative strategy and also help us to improve our game.

Good Luck!
Nishan

While I'm not at level 5 yet, this caught my eye. Does it mean if you change back to your original investment you have to start from 0 improvement? If so, it doesn't seem worthwhile unless you always plan to keep the same investment.

no only improvements, witch 99% of lvl5+ players think it's stupid to waste money in it.

(maybe not if u only exploite 1thing whole the time...)
but most people make most there own products to u would waste sooo mutch money while u save VERY little by the coast of payment for you employes.

only do reseach: fundamentals and developement they are improvements to your exploit, makes u collect faster your products.
(as been said by nishan (from 9days to 26hours))
about this most say it's worth it to go to 30% or 40% in lvl5
and later on maybe u get it higher, but coast more and more ofcourse 40 or 50% is about what most people have...

u have to do fundamental first to developement, when u hav fundamental 10% u can get 10% developement.

for fundamental it's 100 then 200 then 300 and so on
for development it's 1000 every time (if i'm not mistaken)
the in

Lisa, You've got a good breakdown of Research and Development cost multiples from Blade.

Farms, Mines and Industries are different from one another. Improvements disappear with divestment just like products in your retail stores. Improvement are only to cut down your labour costs. When your Labour costs are so cheap why would anyone bother about the technology of improvements to reduce labour costs. Its a real life situation. Good businessman will always have more happy workers, If they don't cost you too much!

I think I miss Sandstorm for a different opinion!

I'm finally in level 5 Smile

Will have to wait until the exchange rate gets better to open up an exploitation. I can't wait to start making my own raw materials!

Welcome to Level 5. Together we will make a good team!

Look at exploitations carefully before you invest. I made the mistake of investing in all improvements without looking at R&D!

don't do any improvements, ther not worth it. (it's only for less employes) and sales for employes are cheap

would take u over 1,5year to earn back the money from improvements from what u would save on salery's

only do research

Thanks for the information on exploitations!

It will probably be another week or two before I have enough extra money to start.

I have already purchased seastars to open up more factories! I think this would be the best strategy to start with.

Thanks Gladoor, and may I ask you how long you have been in level 5 ?

I was a bit lucky yesterday, because I could buy 7 zylux machines for
half of the price or less, some I reselled again, so I could join this
level sooner than I thought.

I needed all my money to start all 6 factories, could only open a farm
and a mine with 10 % development. Have to make first some money for my
third exploitation.
Does it matter wich one you start or is it better to have all 3 kind of exploitations ?

Welcome to level 5 rivesalte Very Happy

I have been trying to catch Nishan, it makes it more interesting if you have someone slightly above you that you hope to catch.

You want to open the exploitation that will give you the raw materials you need for your factories. I still have three jewelry stores, so I only have mines open because it fills all my factories.

Thanks Drooch, I saw your remark about catching Nishan in another thread Wink
I actually don't know anybody who joined level 5 not long ago and I see you are 4 monthes ahead. So it will be a bit too hard to catch you I suppose Laughing

But at the other hand I read you have only 3 jewelries. I have now 2 hightech stores and the third I sold to buy a hyper market a ten days ago. I have more as twice as much sales with the hyper. So I will buy as soon as possible 2 other ones.
So you never know if I eventually will cath you jocolor

Good to know SandStorm, thanks!
I did read here already that the costs of the improvements were not really cost effective, but indeed then it is certainly a wast of money.

Well, I didn't made a note of the exact day of entry into level 5. I think it must have been in the spring of this year, so I level 5 did take me 6 to 7 months.
Perhaps Nishan can help, If I remember well he entered level 5 some weeks after me.
